THE National Capital District Commission has restricted liquor outlets to observe the trading hours during the festive period.
City Manager, Leslie Alu issued a stern warning this week to the liquor outlet operators to carefully observe the restriction periods but failing to do so may result in termination of liquor license and face the full force of law.
“All operators are warned that surveillance operations will be carried out during this period and premises found defying this notice will be dealt with accordingly,” Mr Alu said.
“The public must know that a liquor restriction will be in force during the festive period on Monday Dec 25, Christmas Day, Tuesday Dec 26, Boxing Day and Monday Jan 1, 2018.
He said the following restrictions will apply accordingly as determined by the NCD licensing committee.
He said during the Christmas Eve, the normal retail trading hours for all dealers, bottle shops and storekeepers will remain.
He said alcohol must not be sold and supplied after 12 midnight at taverns, and part of the premises commonly known as the public bars in limited hotels and publicans while patrons are to finish drinks.
“Any operators wishing to operate beyond the normal hours must obtain a special permit allowing for an extension of its trading hours.”
