US Embassy welcomes strategy to counter Gender Based Violence

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea: US Embassy Port Moresby welcomes the National Executive Council’s approval of the National Strategy to Prevent and Respond to Gender Based Violence (2016-2025) and commends the Department of Community Development, Youth, and Religion for their steadfast work on this strategy.

The strategy is an important step towards eliminating the scourge of gender-based violence in Papua New Guinea.

US Embassy Port Moresby will continue to work with the Government of Papua New Guinea in support of their efforts to end violence, promote the inclusion of women and girls in all aspects of society, and protect the rights of children.
